The Art of Shaving, a unique concept passionately devoted to the very best in men's skin care, grew from the special vision of a young husband and wife team, Eric Malka and Myriam Zaoui. They wanted to educate men on how to achieve a closer, more comfortable shave, avoiding the discomforts of ingrown hairs, razor burn, tough beard and sensitive skin, and how to care fully for their skin's needs. All this, in an environment where men could feel comfortable. With Eric's business acumen and Myriam's extensive knowledge of skin care and aromatherapy, together they opened their first retail shop for men.
The very first The Art of Shaving shop opened in October 1996 on New York's Upper East Side. Within the first year, Eric and Myriam recognized a niche in the market — a customer need they were well qualified to fill. So they launched The Art of Shaving product line, based on aromatherapy and created to maintain, treat and nourish the most sensitive skin. These unique products are made with only the safest natural ingredients and pure essential oils — no synthetic dyes or fragrances, no alcohol.
Next came the innovative The Art of Shaving Barber Spa on Madison Avenue, a one-of-a-kind masculine environment offering the best in men's grooming products and specialized services. Soon, success in Manhattan led to opening The Art of Shaving Shop & Barber Spa in Miami and Las Vegas.
Today, The Art of Shaving products are offered nationwide in select department stores, men's clothiers, spas, apothecaries and golf resorts — even at select retailers in Russia, Germany, Italy, Korea, Japan, Canada and England.
