What Does SPF 30 Mean?
The SPF rating system indicates how long it takes for skin to redden when protected, versus how long it takes for skin to redden without sunscreen. For instance, if you ordinarily burn in 10 minutes without protection, then an SPF 30 sunscreen will protect your skin for 300 minutes or five hours before it needs to be reapplied. Always reapply after excessive sweating or long periods in the water.
