I'm not sure what amber is supposed to smell like, all I know is this one smells great. In the same respect it's not strong enought to compete with and post shave fragrance. A very classic, warm, some what woodsy, leather, musk scent without being too "old man". I initially thought that because it's a "soap" it would dry my skin more than the more expensive english creams i've used, but in fact it seems to be quite the opposite. It's now my favourite and seems work really well for double edge users.

Lasts an incredibly long time. Smells great. Does take a lot of work and time to produce a good lather, but maybe that's my water. Although, I don't have that problem with creams. Overall, it's a lot less expensive than the cream I also use. At a quarter of the price and twice the life of cream, I can put the extra work into a lather.
