No. Don't. I tried this cream for a week, and had some of the worst shaves with my DE that I've ever had. Had a lot of irritation and dry unsightly skin afterwards.
Opt instead for the original English shaving creams (Taylor's, Trumper's) that the Art of Shaving tries (in vain) to imitate.

In my opinion this is a terrible product. I can get a great lather with it, but it doesn't lubricate! I have tried various water to cream ratios, and even loading the brush with glycerine soap before lathering to try to get a more slippery foam, but to no avail. I can get 10 times better lubrication from a $6 dollar can of quality shave gel. What a let-down - no more expensive shave creams for me!

No lubrication whatsoever. My face felt like it was on fire afterwards. Stick with the traditional English creams.

Not impressed in the least, does not provide a close shave, have to use half the product just to provide enough lather to cover the face, and literally takes an hour to wash off, spent $100 dollars on the set with pre-shave oil etc, but will most likely only use the badger brush in the future. Very interested in trying Barc or a Truefitt and Hill product.

I cannot fathom how this over-priced "shaving cream" is maintaining a 4-star review. I even tried using it with AOS's crappy shaving oil (which is also over-priced), and the aftermath looked like i used a cheese-grater on my face. If you want a top-shelf product, use T+H or Barc (like 2 dollars cheaper) or save some cash and use Sharps (gel, 13) or proraso (10). I have a heavy beard and in my experience, I've used all 4 of the products above and i did not even need to use a pre-shave oil to get a close shave with no bumps, burn, or ingrowns.
