I bought this starter kit because I had decided to take the plunge into traditional wet shaving. I did my research and wanted to try getting a decent kit that would allow me to save money but also introduce me properly to wet shaving. What's my conclusion? I love it. Simple as that. I hadn't shaved for three days on purpose to accumulate a scruffy beard just so I can try this out with a bang.

The brush had a slight smell to it but trust me after a few days of using it the smell comes off and the brush becomes softer. All in all the brush is a good starters brush so one can learn the technique and proper use to lather and massage the skin.

The Merkur Classic DE Razor is tiny but heavy in the hand and well crafted. It felt good in the hand. A little hard to get used to because after being indoctrinated to using the Gillette 3 blade plastic for so many years it's like learning how to shave all over again. But after doing my research and reading up on how to use the DE Razor I understood that you don't have to press hard against the skin to shave anymore. It felt awesome.

Now the soap is something I wanted to try because of the nostalgic-esque vibe I got off of it, besides, I don't shave often so I didn't want a cream sitting on my counter for long periods. The soap has an amazingly pleasant smell that is hard to describe...it smells...clean! Sort of like freshly cleaned laundry of sorts. Using this soap after a shower in the morning is my highlight of the day because it just invigorates me. Best of all is the shave I get from using this! I love it!

So what's the conclusion one can get from using this? Awesome kit for someone wanting to dive in head first into wet shaving with a DE Razor and shave soap. I'm glad I chose this kit to start my adventure into proper shaving. Gone are the days of razor burns, tugging hair, and dry awful shaving foam. Count me in as a convert to traditional wet shaving. :)
