This has a been a 'good' aftershave balm especially when you get over the smell of it. To be fair perhaps lavendar is an acquired smell, but if possible sample/smell the product before buying.

This is an excellent aftershave. I've been alternating between this and the California North aftershave. Each has it's benefits, but this is truly a superior product ... not just to California North's. I find the smell of lavendar to be pleasant, and it balances the sandalwood shaving cream I also use. The product is very thick, but it absorbs very well, and leaves the softest, smoothest skin I have ever had with an aftershave. It is very calming to the skin, and I do not experience a bit of burn upon the application of this aftershave. I use the CN product is because I live in the South East and when it is hot outside, this does leave a slightly greasy feel. I find this works better in the winter, and something a bit lighter for the summer months. At $38.00 a bottle, it is hard to swallow, but a little goes a long way. I've had my current bottle for 4 months, and I don't think I'm halfway through.

I found this product to not be great for my skin. I have combo skin, and it seemed to be heavy and greasy for me. I would personally not use this again.

Great, but use sparingly. It is thick but a little will easily spread over your whole shaved area and will feel nice and smooth/moisturized but not greasy.
